You are spinning around on a rock in the middle of absolute nowhere and you’re freaking out that you’ve got a tiny speck of ketchup on your shirt. You are here for a ridiculously short amount of time and then you will leave. Where will you go? Who knows. That, by the way, is not the question to be focussing on while you are here. The important question to ask yourself now is, how am I going to live while I’m here? What quality of existence do you want to have between your birth and your death? You see you only have two real choices. Option one, allow your Mind to use you and ruin the precious time that you have. Or Option two, use your Mind to have fun and really enjoy your experience of being on this incredible planet? Believe it or not, option two is Yoga!

The Problem with your Mind
Your Mind is like the ocean not a lake. Your Mind is not calm like a lake it is very active like the ocean. If your Mind was like a lake you would be able to clearly see where its boundaries lie. Where it begins and ends. But our Minds are more like the ocean. If you stand on a beach and look out at the ocean you have no idea where it starts and finishes. Your Mind, like the ocean is so vast and devoid of clear boundaries, that most people are clueless about what and where Mind really is. It’s boundless nature actually stops us from realising it’s even there. It’s as if Mind is invisible to a Human Being in the same way that a fish is unable to see the water. If you say to a fish “look at all that water you’re swimming in”, the fish (it it could talk), would say “what water, I don’t see any water”. It is only by taking the fish out of the water that it’s able to “see” the water. This is true of us and our Minds. This makes it very difficult for us to even begin to get to grips with our Minds and therefore understanding ourselves.

The architect Archibald Leitch brought his experience with the construction of industrial buildings to bear on the design of functional stadiums up and down the country. His work encompassed the first 40 years of the 20th century. One of his most notable designs was Old Trafford in Manchester. The ground was originally designed with a capacity of 100,000 spectators and featured seating in the south stand under cover, while the remaining three stands were left as terraces and uncovered.
