CBT Therapy or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in London.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to recognise and change unhelpful thinking and behaviour into helpful thoughts and behaviour. CBT Therapy gives patients a clear understanding of why their problem exists and the steps they need to take to change their problem.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy teaches patients to be their own therapists. CBT Therapists provide their clients with the psychological tools, methods and understanding for them to use on their own and with their CBT Therapist while they are in therapy. The clients learn and use the tools over the course of therapy, so that should they ever encounter further psychological difficulties once therapy has ended, they will be better equipped .
Because Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tackles people’s problem mainly from a present day perspective, you won’t be spending large amounts of time dwelling in the past.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy – what to expect.
CBT is usually conducted one to one. The number of CBT sessions you need depends on the difficulty you need help with. Often this will be between five and twenty weekly sessions lasting between fiftyand sixty minutes each. CBT is mainly concerned with how you think and act now, instead of looking at and getting help with difficulties in your past.
You and your therapist at Canary Wharf clinic in London will discuss your specific difficulties and set goals for you to achieve. CBT is not a quick fix. It involves hard work during and between sessions. Your therapist will not tell you what to do. Instead they will help you decide what difficulties you want to work on in order to help you improve your situation. Your therapist will be able to advise you on how to continue using CBT techniques in your daily ‘life after your treatment ends.
